Multi-Instrumentalist, singer-songwriter.

My name is Louis Van Camp. I am a songwriter, recording artist, and sound designer. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, but currently reside in Chicago, Illinois where I am attending Northwestern University as a student in the Masters in Sound Arts and Industry program.

I grew up listening to music from the 1960s and 1970s and have an affinity for that era’s production and sound. For years, I enjoyed playing in cover bands but eventually discovered a love for writing original songs. I eventually pivoted away from playing live shows to focus on writing and composition.

After producing a few solo albums, I started writing music for video games and building soundscapes for theater productions. Around then, I also began composing scores for short films.

As I continue my way through my Masters, I’m proud to say that I’ve produced over a dozen original songs, one ninety-minute play, complete scores for two short films, a full-length radio performance, and a music video of a live band (that I played in).

Currently, my main goal is to further develop my skills as a composer and sound designer. I am eager to collaborate with new musicians, film makers, and game designers! Please reach out here if you are interested in working together and need music or sound for your project.
